Safe at Last
Luckily, there is no real danger to inhabitants from things like this. Whew. Shanghai remains a very safe city but ya better learn some Mandarin to get around. I have my basic taxi stuff about half way there (Turn Left! Turn Right!) but I still need the other two (Go Straight! Stop Here!)

erhmmm, you gotta actually tell Shanghai taxi drivers how to get to your destination? don't they know their way around town?
Well, the addresses here are not real number and street specific .. . .it's more - "go to this area and take me to this street near where that street intersects it." If you are going to a landmark or something, they will usually get it but ya never know and it is rare that the cabbies speak english at all.
